Don't get too excited -- you won't be seeing this product until well into 2000. The
impressive Mark Levinson No.40 Media Console is a reference preamp/processor that supports
Dolby Digital, DTS, HDCD and is THX Ultra certified. The small screen actually shows video
and can be used to cue up movies.

To display movies, Madrigal has formed Madrigal Imaging. Products include the MP-8 and
MP-9 CRT projectors, which retail for $45,000 and $60,000, respectively.
For audiophiles. The No.383 is the first integrated amplifier with the Mark Levinson name
and retails for $6000.

Speaking of reference-grade products, Meridian's 800 DVD is capable of playing all current
digital formats and retails for $14,000 to $18,000 depending on configuration.

Meridian's 568 surround-sound processor will be released in October and features
upsampling of regular CDs to 24 bit/96kHz. Pricing is not yet available.

The Mirage Incognita subwoofers are designed to be mounted below floor level. The table
shown mimics the floor in a house and the subwoofer chamber is actually attached to the
floorboards below the room. The vented output fires into the room. Prices range from $800
to $1800 depending on model.

Who says wire is just wire? This is wire in a suitcase. When consumers buy the Monster
Cable Sigma Retro speaker cables at $1250 for a 5' pair (the price didn't surprise as much
as the length), they also get this handy aluminum carrying case, purple cable bag and
assorted booklets and cases.

The nifty-looking Wraith speakers are from MZX. These flat-panel, electrostatic
loudspeakers include motorized mounting devices that can be remote controlled to adjust
listening distance and toe-in. The price is $10,000 for a five-speaker system without
dynamic subwoofer.

NAD Electronics debuted their new T550 DVD player (top), which retails for $799.

The latest addition to NAD's Silver Series high-performance electronics are the S150
surround-sound processor (top) and S250 five-channel amplifier. Each piece retails for
$2499.

Phase Technology debuted the new Teatro 6.5 LCR speakers, which retail for $225 each.

The Phase Technology Teatro 4.5 retails for $130 each.

If you like music to garden by, the $110 Teatro ATS-1 All Terrain speaker may be for you.

Dick McCarthy is shown with Richard Gray's Power Company (that's the name of the product).
This power-line conditioner is designed for audio and video use and retails for $700.
