Distributor Audiophile Systems displayed the new dCS Delius D/A converter (the middle component) that uses the dCS 24-bit, 192kHz Ring DAC and retails for $6999. It is also upgradeable via the Internet and supports Sony's DSD technology.


DVDO's $699 iScan Plus device (on top of TV) converts interlaced video to the 480-line progressive-scan format for higher-quality viewing.


Escient showed their PowerPlay DVD and CD management system, which uses advanced technology, including the Internet, for cataloging up to 200 discs per changer. The entire system as shown is $5000.


On Saturday the first-ever stainless-steel version of Gallo's Nucleus Micro speaker arrived at the show.


In the Philips booth, a Harley Davidson motorcycle was on display as a possible prize for the company's top representatives.


JPS Labs' Joe Skubinski holds his new top-of-the-line Kaptovator power cord that comes in a wooden box and retails for $1499.


JPS Labs also showed the new Video AC power cord that retails for $349.


Kenwood's new VH-600 desktop system includes a receiver packing a CD player (that supports HDCD), tuner, and amplifier (top component) and speakers. It retails for $599. For $249 more, you can add a tape deck, which is shown underneath the receiver.


Kinergetics Research showed their $2995 Chiro C-902 surround-sound receiver that delivers 110Wpc x 5.


Dan Bronner of Sound Alignment Systems demonstrates the $189 P-770 laser alignment tool that is intend to help custom installers visualize speaker-dispersion patterns.


Legacy Audio's home-theater display included their Empire speakers ($4800 per pair), Picture Perfect plasma display ($11,999), Grand Central center-channel/subwoofer/TV stand ($4450), and the Brooklyn Bridge center-channel/wall rack ($1495).


You'll never have trouble finding this remote control. The Phast WOW! series ViewPoint control panel is available in five startling colors and can handle infrared and RF signals. Pricing was unavailable.


Lucent Technologies supplies structured wiring systems for voice, video and data distribution.


Kimber Kable displayed the next advancement in high-end power connection. The WATTaGATE 381 is a very high-quality $240 wall socket with gold plating.
