Inside Bel Canto's hot EVo 200.2 amplifier,
a 120Wpc single-ended digital amp that costs a reasonable $2150. SoundStage! has
a review sample coming.

Left to right, the Bel Canto DAC1 sitting atop a
Pioneer DV-414 DVD player, the Bel Canto EVo 200.2 amplifier, and Bel Canto's
yet-to-be-named solid-state preamp. This combination was responsible from some very
impressive sound with Von Schweikert Audio speakers.

Audio Aero showed its soon-to-be-available Capitole
A/V six-channel amplifier, which uses small "double-triode" tubes that are hard
wired to the circuit board and splashed with blue light from behind. The price will be in
the $8500 range.

Audio Aero has updated its Capitole CD player
($6403) to interpolate to 24-bit/192kHz data. It has a tube output stage that can drive an
amp directly and comes with a very user-friendly and feature-laden remote.

Gershman Acoustics' lovely new Opera Sauvage
loudspeaker (shown left, $15,000 per pair) is now the company's flagship model, surpassing
the GAP-520X (shown right). The Opera Sauvage is, according to Gershman, a
"high-efficiency" speaker that uses a Gershman-designed midrange and woofer.
