Coverage of HI-FI '99 from Chicago, USA -- May 12-16, 1999
Yesterday we reported that the cleanliness of our Travelodge accomodations in Chicago would make prisoners wary. Today, writers Greg Weaver and Doug Blackburn found out that this place may indeed be a prison. After waking and attempting to get an early start on coverage, they found they couldn't get out of their room. Seems the door's lock jammed -- no maintenance personnel were in sight and no front-desk people were answering the phone. After spending some 25 minutes trapped in the room, the ingenious dB, armed only with a nail file, manage to spring the duo from the big house. Yeah, they're a little bitter. Do they give refunds here?
