On the topic of 24/96 digital reproduction, Tellig boldly predicted that DVD-Audio would win a format war. Editor John Atkinson announced that the magazine's goal was to have all back content available on the stereophile.com website within five years. On the topic of the Stereophile's progressively slender size, Atkinson cited the weak Asian economy for an overall recession in the audio-publishing business and an 18-month decline in advertising for the magazine.
