Art Audio's Diavolo ($5995) SET 13Wpc amplifier is a chrome-and-gold nightmare for digital photographers, but it made sweet sounds driving a pair of Rosinante Gabriel speakers. Look for a SoundStage! review very soon.
Primare P30 Dolby Digital DTS processor (left, approximately $3000) and 30.5 multi-channel amplifier (approximately $5000). The P30 is significant for being one of the first Dolby Digital DTS processors introduced by a European company. The company also intends to offer a DVD player in the fall of this year.
Paradigm Studio 40 loudspeaker ($1100 per pair in finish shown), a new stand-mounted monitor in the company's Studio lineup.
Paradigm's new Seismic Cube powered subwoofers in 12" and 10" models.
Speaker Art's Super Clef loudspeakers($1599 per pair) sounded very spacious and sweet resting on novel Sound Anchor stands (approximately $440 per pair) that adjust for height and width and come filled with concrete.
Dunlavy unveiled its new line of speakers, which come in various sizes and geometric shapes. Shown above left to right are the Sigma-1 ($10,000 per pair) and Millenium-1 ($17,000 per pair). The bow-tie-shaped Millenium-1 represents a radical change in the appearance of Dunlavy speakers.
The hexagonal-shaped Dunlavy Athena (left, $6000 per pair) and more traditional-looking SM-1 monitor ($2000 per pair).
Nothing looks quite like the Graaf OTL amplifiers from Italy. Show here are a pair of GM20 stereo amplifiers ($4895 each). A single amplifier delivers 20Wpc, 65 watts bridged. They made nice music with the Sonus Faber Electa Amator II speakers, which are equally attractive. |
